Roadtripping to the snow one more time before spring. Baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and making sour cherry quinoa granola to share with our host. Packing a few favorite teas along with a travel cup and strainer. Tucking in a knitting project, a cozy scarf, and a good book. With boots and snowshoes in the car, setting off for the weekend for some alpine air and mountain town charm. That's what's been going on around here this week. I hope you're having a good last bit of winter, too.
I could not get enough of the milk oolong from new tea company Rosali Tea this week. The remarkably buttery fragrance and lovely complex flavor kept me sipping cup after cup.
The maple and smoked orange latte (made with a reduction of maple syrup, orange, and pine-smoked lapsang souchong) at Good Coffee was an unexpected and seriously delicious pick me up.
I'm really feeling We Are Knitters and their modern and fun take on knitting... the yarns, colors, patterns, and perfectly packaged kits. They have something for knitters of all levels and the knit-curious. This swingy sweater (my first sweater!) and super-plush scarf are in my to-knit queue.
I came across not one, not two, but three great bags this week: a handmade waxed canvas and leather weekender that will only get better with age, a punchy and unexpected work tote that's still super versatile, and this cool, perforated tote in charcoal grey.
Finding the right cup to drink tea on the go is tricky business. I picked up this glass cup when I was in Vancouver, BC last summer and have used it almost everyday since. It has a silicone lid and sleeve that come in lots of colors. I leave the lid off when I'm sitting still so I can enjoy the color and fragrance of the tea, and pop it on when I'm on the go to prevent spills.
